"Make a Penguin" Day

Yesterday was a wonderful, lazy day hanging around the house and doing absolutely nothing that could be interpreted as "work".

My project for the day consisted of shamelessly copying (with her consent) Geninne's interpretation of Hillary's free Wee Bunny pattern for my penguin-loving son. Thanks Geninne and Hillary!

Geninne's is much cuter. I'm a lazy butt and machine sewed everything. I also had to use whatever materials I had around the house. I'd call this a prototype.

The funniest thing is that, by the time I got to sewing on the eyes, it was kind of dark. I found two cute little black buttons in my button jar and sewed them on. This morning I looked at the penguin - the eyes are GREEN!

Definitely a prototype...

  1. aww that is so cute! I love penguins.

  2. Oh my God Anina!!!! He's beautiful! Your son must have flipped out when he saw this cutey. I showed it to my kids and they loved it too. The scarf looks so warm and cozy :) You did a great job. Thanks for the kind words :)
    Have a beautiful day!

  3. I´m in love ;o)
You have a very nice blog!

  4. You have made such a cute bunny!
I hope its ok that I show the picture at my blog and that I link to you?
    Have a nice Easter

  5. I just finished making a ton of the original bunnies...now I am excited to try a penguin. Yours is adorable!

  6. Your penguin is completely adorable Anina! :-) I bought one at Seaworld in San Diego that wasn't even half as cute as this one! (You could sell these, if you wanted to)

I just stopped by your blog from flickr, where I was admiring your photos. I see that you talents range from photography to just about EVERYTHING. :-) But I especially like your penguin.
