Soooo....Josh wanted a knitted hat too. I was not paying $20 a skein for Manos wool, so we went to Joann's and he picked out different yarn.
I knit(ted?) and knit(ted?)...
(Yes, I did knit a square to test the gauge - it was perfect.)
If you fold the rim over it's not too bad.
P.S. Viola was NOT happy about having to model this creation.

the hat looks great...it is difficult to judge how long it needs to be, and when to stop, isn't it? I have had that problem nearly every time I knit a hat.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful!! Tell Viola she looks great.
ReplyDeleteThose colors are luscious! Just don't tell anyone that the hat is not exactly the way you envisioned it, and no one will know!
ReplyDeleteEr...How does Josh's head size compare to Viola's? You could just say, "Honey, you are so smart, that I am anticipating your head size will continue to grow."
Or you can borrow the famous line from "Are You Being Served", "It will ride up with wear"!
Just fold that cuff deep and say you intended it to look that way all along; hold your head up high, slap a proud smile on your face, and stick with that story! *GRIN!*
Fondly,
Penny
