It's Cleaning Week

Cleaning Week
Since I started my little store, things have gotten a little out of control around here.
The days of putting around in the garden, redecorating, sewing when I felt like it, and cleaning the house thoroughly once a week are over.
I'm not complaining, mind you.
But something has to be done.
So this week I'm spending three hours each day "Fall Cleaning".
Since I just counted the rooms in this house and came to twelve, I hope that's enough.

Would you care to join me?

  1. It's pretty ridiculous around here too, especially with two ragdolls who shed constantly! Misery loves company... it helps to know someone else is doing the same hehe!

  2. Oooh, I'd LOVE to join you -- my place is a s.t.y. Sadly, I have to go to work so I'll have to wait to join you on the weekend!

  3. 12 rooms... OMG!

You’re not alone... with my workspace at home and my crazy quilting attitude I don’t even manage to have our little 4-room house tidy!
And when I’ve some time left, I rather do some gardening!

  5. My fall cleaning begins next week! (I'm dog sitting this week, so once the grandpuppy goes home I can get started.) I like your 3 hours a day plan. I usually do one room a day when I do my fall or spring cleaning.

  6. That is what I'm doing this week (okay, this month) as well. Preschool started in earnest this morning, and the little one naps during preschool, which is so fantastic...(so why am I reading blogs instead of cleaning???)...my goal is to have the house gleaming before the holiday planning begins.

  9. I'd love to join you in cleaning, but I'm going to wait two weeks...until my son and his dog move out. Then maybe there's a chance it will STAY clean!!!

  14. Oh man, I need to do some fall cleaning too. Things like dusting the blinds and ceiling fans, which I really hate doing. Hope you get your cleaning done!

  16. I've been trying to do a bit of deep cleaning each day - small areas at a time and making some nice progress. I'v never heard of fall cleaning though. Guess we are getting ready for winter making sure our nests are ready to settle in for cooler days huh?
    I just enjoy your blog.

  17. Three weeks ago we started a deep purge starting in our attic and working our way down to the first floor. A dear friend offered to help and she's a master at organizing! Every box, bag, and basket is opened, and contents sorted to stay or go. Several trips to the town dump, items given away to friends, and somethings donated or sold - it's a wonderful feeling to be almost done! It feels great to look at only the things that you really love and need and we're feeling the effects of fresh new energy flowing through the house! just a few more things and we can finally concentrate on the fun stuff: decorating!
