When the power went out yesterday morning (for a full 14 hours!), I was in the middle of finishing the binding on the 12 Days of Christmas Quilt.
I'm a hard core quilter though. I just pulled my chair up close to the french doors and kept going.
This morning I can show off my first finish for 2012!
Yay!
I still have some 12 Days of Christmas fabric in the store (40% off until 1/21/12 to celebrate this finish.)
There is also a fabric bundle in the Etsy store. The sashing stripe is this fabric.

Brilliant!! It look soooo beautiful too. Love the panels of Christmas you have used. Very special for Christmas's to come.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. Love the centers with the numbers... In fact I love everything about it :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous in the snow! But it would be equally gorgeous on a cozy chair by the fireplace, with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate!

I love the colors in this holiday themed quilt. So refreshing after so many years of the same old tired Christmas colorways!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Anina! That is a real beauty that will be enjoyed for years to come.
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic Anina !!! And I wish we still had snow... Stupid Rain. :)

I hope I might be able to get a bit of advice from you. I am going to bite the bullet, and try to machine quilt a large quilt on my machine. Do you use a long arm on yours, or do you use your machine? If you do use your machine, what method of basting do you use so that the layers don't move as you work with the fabric to quilt it? Thanks for your help!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first finish! Sorry you were without power but that would be a good time to get that binding on.
ReplyDeletea wonderful dream in the snow , beautiful work
ReplyDeleteBest regards , Christine
I love how the quilt turned out! Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can recalled taking hand-piecing up during a long power outage just because I couldn't bear to be sewing machine-less :o)

I have this same panel, but could not figure out what to do with it. I loved your use of color. Is this one of your project patterns?? Can you tell me how you put this together?? Thanks.

It looks awesome! Good for you keeping going even with the power out! I can't say I did anything when the power went out other than play with the puppy & complain about how cold it was ;)
