This should have been the celebration post for finish #2.
Alas, it's not to be.
After a lot of pondering, I chose a fabric for the binding.
Yes, it was kind of checkered/striped, but I thought it was a "forgiving" kind of check/stripe.
Not so.
The quilt has been sitting on the kitchen table for 2 days while I was trying to convince myself that it's OK.
It's not.
The seam ripper and I will be spending some quality time together today.

I have to say I agree with you (sorry), but I admire you for ripping out and re-doing. I'm not sure I wouldn't have convinced myself that it would do:)
ReplyDeleteUgh! Ripping out binding can't be fun. But then again, ripping never is. I hope you find the perfect solution soon.
ReplyDeleteUn-sewing = un-fun. But you gotta do what you gotta do! Just keep thinking about how amazing it is going to look once you get the new binding on there. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Rusty...it doesn't work...I'd go with one of those mustard yellows in the border....

ReplyDeleteI have done this as well. And I also agree that this fabric just doesn't work for binding.
