Hah! Got your attention, didn't I?
Working on the red blocks.
My brain doesn't want to think today, so no BOM sewing.
There are definitely more ugly than pretty fabrics in the bin.

You got my attention... LOL!

You are so so right about all of the ugly fabrics in the world! But I guess they wouldn't be here if someone didn't love them...
ReplyDeleteI just love red! I also recognize a couple of those prints from my stash - and yes - they are ugly. What was I thinking?
ReplyDeleteAh, but the uglies always look very cool when paired with pretties. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteBut don't you find that the uglies don't show up when mixed up with the pretties? I love quilts made from scraps, they always look fabulous. Afterall quilts were traditionally made with scraps.
ReplyDeleteI just recently took a quilting class. My teacher - an amazing woman- would send around swatches fo the fabric she used to make a quilt. Id think these are really ugly. But then she would pull out the quilt and I'd gasp because those colors together even though they were totally dated turned out this really amazing quilt. That was pure magic!
ReplyDeleteLove your scrappy strippy blocks...I think they will be fab!
ReplyDeleteI did 2 quilts a few years ago one in blues and one in pinks using the same method as you are doing.

I've already made 12 scrap along blocks from my 30s scraps. Your reds will look fabulous when put together. Even if you think they're ugly, no one else will. I didn't use any red at first, but decided to add it as it really makes the blocks pop.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how even a bad fabric can look great in a scrap quilt with so many others. This will look awesome.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are too funny! :) Looking at your sewing space makes me want to dig into my scraps too.
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing today, 7 scrappy blocks using 1.5" leftover strips. Good sewing experience.
