The first week of the month is always a little crazy around here because of Rainbow Jane prep.
This week it's like pulling teeth for some or other reason.
It could have something to do with these:
Yes, those are dimes.
I've been wondering about something for a while. I put a little poll in the sidebar about music on blogs. Do you like it when you open up a blog and music starts playing or don't you? Please vote in the sidebar to satisfy my curiousity.
The Poll is now closed. 92% of you do not like music on blogs.

it is disconcerting sometimes. Especially when I don't have the headphones in and it blasts something out. It usually scares the tar out of me, when I am not expecting anything. If I am aware that this site has music, I can be prepared, to either mute the button, or something. I guess my vote is NO.
ReplyDeleteBut don't take the music totally off, just give me the chance to turn it on if I am in the mood. :D

Eeek those are so tiny. It makes my head hurt to think of trying to make one. Buuuuut, they are so cute I sort-of want to try!
ReplyDeleteAbout blog music. I hate it! I never expect it and then I get to poo scared out of me. It also seems that I never like the music that is playing so then I mute and then later can't figure out why I can't hear stuff LOL!
How's that for an answer ;)
I am not crazy about it blasting when I am trying to read a blog. I use Google reader for most of my reading of blogs and do not get the music but when I do go out to leave a comment or something the music sometimes is a scare.
ReplyDeleteHate the music - not just on blogs, but any websites. I've not subscribed to feeds on some sites I would have followed otherwise just because of the music. I agree with the others that it scares you when you are not expecting it. It is terribly intrusive.
ReplyDeletemy goodness, those ARE dimes! You are amazing. They look quite adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hate music that starts automatically as soon as you click on a blog! especially because it's almost always music I wouldn't listen to by choice. Please please don't add it to yours. Thanks for asking our opinion:-)
I <3 the little stars! They're precious! I also really, really, really dislike music on blogs. I agree with Terriaw; it's never music I would listen to. Once it's open you have to go searching for an "off" button!
ReplyDeleteFun to see those tiny little blocks. The only way I would attempt that is with paper piecing. I love paper piecing!
ReplyDeleteI really don't like when music is playing on a blog. I think it is hard to read a blog when it has music that has someone singing.
I can't imagine even trying to cut and piece those cute little squares. How fun to look at tho. What are you going to do with them?
ReplyDeleteThey are so perfect for being so tiny!!! That's as nuts as the ticker tape 5th grade project I'm doing!!
ReplyDeleteWow... Those stars are so tiny and have such nice points... WOW... Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI voted NO for the music on blogs. I really do like all kinds of music and find it interesting to see what kinds of music other people like, but music on blogs always interferes with the sounds I already have running on my computer. I am a multi-tasker even on the computer so I am known to have 3-4 different programs all running at the same time and when blogs with music pop up, it clashes with my other music or videos that I currently have running and hurts my ears. :)
oh my! those are so tiny and so cute!
ReplyDeleteabout the music, my vote is no. one, it's quite distracting, and two, almost all those bloggers who have music playing also have copywrite on their blog. seems a little hypocritical to me.
I hate the music as normally I have the volume up too loud it seems and it blast so loudly that I actually jump. Once I realize a blog has music I decide right then and there not to put it on my google reader and I rarely ever go back to look at it. A lot of people feel the same way I have heard.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the little stars - it was a booger wasn't it!

I really dislike blog music. It always makes me jump because I can't remember who has it and who doesn't. It is seldom anything I want to listen to. Everyone has her/his own taste in music and you can't assume the rest of the world is on that same page. While it is a nice gesture, I think it is a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteThe sidebar poll does not display on my browser - only the heading.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking opinions on the music ---- H A T E IT!!!---on blogs and on any websites that automatically play music or video without the visitors initiating it. (and flashing items fall in the same category -- very annoying!!!)
one blog that I used to follow has music (which I always muted b4 going to the site)...it takes a very long time for that blog to load - I think it relates to the music because it is blogspot and others I read on blogspot load much quicker. Anyway, I didn't enjoy the hassle of having to mute, then the prolonged wait so I stopped visiting that blog, even though the content was interesting.
Just curious -- would be interesting to know why you would even consider adding it.......
thanks for asking 4 opinions. Mary
those are some tiny little blocks! wow!!
ReplyDeleteI voted no but let me clarify...I LOVE to see people's playlists and quite often will click through them, but I can't stand when they play automatically. You can set it so people can play it if they want, I wish everyone would do that.
ReplyDeleteNo, to the music. Yes to the wee blocks!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are just teeny tiny blocks! I am assuming that you paper pieced them??
ReplyDeleteI've no idea how big a dime is, but I am assuming they are tiny, tiny! Amazing! Like little pixie patchwork. :-)
ReplyDeleteI also voted no to the music. I honestly find it irritating, and it makes the site so sloooow.
The size of your pieces are incredible, I really dropped my jaw at the petite work, wow.
ReplyDeleteAs for music, I guess it would have to be no. I love music, but it often comes in too loud, and bothers people around me. I would rather choose for myself.
I also don't like the music that plays automatically. Then, if you do shut it off, as soon as you look at another page on the same blog, it starts again, and again.... grrrrrrr Quite irritating. Please, if you have it, set Playlist so we have a choice to listen or not.
ReplyDeleteI love the music and if I especially like it I leave it on my comp to listen too while I do housework or sew.... I think if some don't like it turn down the sound on your computer....but then I don't have it on my blog... cos I am unsure how to do it?... he he
ReplyDeleteHugs Dawn x x x
eek! so tiny and cute!
ReplyDeleteas for the music, another resounding NO. To nicely rebut Dawn if I may, my problem isn't so much the sound b/c I have it turned down most of the time, but the way it B O G S down my computer. Granted, my computer is pretty sickly right now anyway, but the automatic music will often bring me to a screeching halt and it takes forever for me to be able to scroll down to turn it off and get me back running at normal speeds.
Oh good lord that's tiny! Soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the music on blogs or sites just because it usually startles me.
No music please. The speakers are often on - share this computer and I forget to turn them off. I use the computer when others sleep and do not want to wake others up.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I also dislike the music and tend to not go back to those that have it. Many times I check blogs in the wee hours of the night and hate to wake others.
ReplyDeleteLove your tiny little blocks!
ReplyDeleteI voted NO for music on blogs. It makes them slow and it irritates me because I often already have iTunes playing on the computer. I do not visit blogs with music that often any more. That also counts for blogs with numerous google adds and slow loading backgrounds.
I am happy for it to be there, sometimes its great. However, I echo what some others have said and would prefer the option to turn it off. Nice to know what others like and soetimes you discover something you never knew existed.
ReplyDeleteThose are so tiny!! Wow
ReplyDeleteAs for music..it's a no on my books. I often open several blogs in tabs in one go and if there is music on my than one then I'm quick to close those tabs. I must admit I've even unsubscribed to a blog because of her music...
Holy crap those are small...
ReplyDeletemusic - while I do not have the sound on, I still HATE it.
Nicolette had a great point about ads too... I have unsubbed to blogs where I am bombarded with advertising - overt & subliminal. (Etsy & your own shop is o.k. - but HP on a quilt blog...)
ReplyDeleteDime - Diameter 17.91 mm (0.705 in)
ReplyDeleteI love your wee little blocks! They are so cute and so well done...I can just image how I might goof them up with all the things I can do to a 12" block!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking about the music. I voted no. I read blogs at work and music just doesn't fit in there.
Have a great weekend!

Oh my those are some teeny tiny blocks! Do you paper piece them? How do you get them to look so perfect? Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are amazing! There's probably as much seam allowance as fabric on top.
ReplyDeleteI unsubscribe and will not leave comments on blogs if they play music automatically. It is just so jarring, esp. if I'm looking online when everyone else is asleep.
Those teeny little blocks are just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people have a definite opinion on music on blogs! lol I don't like it, but mostly because I stream radio stations though my computer, and if I got to any site that has music, then it interferes with MY music (which is, of course, far better than their music, lol).
Wow! Those little blocks are adorable! Thanks for sharing them -- I've been thinking I'd like to make my sister a little quilt for her mouse house but couldn't figure out how to get it small enough. That little star would be just perfect!
ReplyDeleteAnd who knew about the music? I had a big kick out of blitzing through your comments. Seems like most people agree -- me too -- I HATE it!
I'm not a fan of music on blogs, mainly because it often causes pages to load much more slowly but also because when it finally starts playing, it always seems to blare out at insane volumes and freaks me out.
ReplyDeleteThose stars are so tiny! The dime really puts them in perspective.
I love music, but I don't want to get caught surfing at work! And it slows down page loading ... and it gets in the way if I'm at home and listening to my own music ... I am interest in seeing other people's playlists ...
ReplyDeleteLOVE those little blocks!! Are the the rainbow jane blocks? and how big are they? So cute!!
ReplyDeleteI would rather not have the music, it always startles me, plus I litsten to my own. I'm having a giveaway at my blog if you're interested. Some pretty fat quarters!
I love your teeny tiny blocks!!
ReplyDeleteThe music thing bugs me but that's just my own quirk.
wow those are tiny! i actually mute my sound when i go blog surfing because i hate music on blogs so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm ambivalent when it comes to music on blogs. Basicly I don't like it but on the other hand I've often gotten to know songs that I didn't know - and I found out that I'd been missing out on something. I have a player on my own blog but you have to click play to get it to play. It also annoys me for another reason. I often listen to music or shows from online radio stations and it's highly annoying to get that mixed up with music on a blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the tiny blocks.
ReplyDeleteHate music on web sites or blogs.....that is enough to keep me from coming back. Sometimes, I just mute the speaker but generally, I avoid the site.
HATE the blog music...it plays over the music I'm listening to on my computer. And often slows down the load time of the blog.
ReplyDeleteThose are some itty-bitty blocks there.
I love the tiny blocks! They are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think the poll is closed by now but I really do not like music playing. I listen to Pandora while I read & it's so frustrating to be blasted out or even quiet music clashing with what I'm listening to. Then, everyone puts their music bar in a different spot (on the side, at the top or at the bottom). I'm scrolling all over looking for it to turn it off.
There are some blogs I've actually stopped reading because the music took a while to start & their bar was so hard to find. I got tired of dealing with it. Each post only takes a few minutes to read as they are posted so I don't listen to a whole song before I move on to my next blog.
Can you tell it's a pet peeve? :)
