Wow, it's been a while! The sun is finally out and I've been spending every spare second outside. Please excuse me if I'm a little scarce.
Please take a morning walk through the garden with me...
The cats are taking full advantage of the weather as well.
In other news, there's a mouse in the pantry and it's VERY smart. Mouse traps have thus far been unsuccessful and all my food is on the kitchen table to keep it away from the mouse.
Here, mousie, mousie...

Summer!

Just so you know, the kitchen table may not be safe from the mouse! We had one that left us little "presents" everywhere it went and I couldn't believe the places it could get to. Shelves in the pantry, bar and countertops in the kitchen, just about every window sill...you name it, it was there! I even had a plastic container with a hairline crack in the lid that it chewed about halfway through before it finally gave up. I'd recommend very tightly sealed tins or heavy plastic containers for your food -- or possibly the refrigerator. These little buggers are WICKED smart!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely! We just had a mouse about a month ago too. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is gorgeous -- the astilbe is so pretty. I wonder if it would grow in Texas. Love your blog. :o)
ReplyDeleteWow! What pretty pictures of your garden. You must really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteLove the allium! So pretty always wanted some of my own, maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteStill praying that the Scrappy Illusion quilt hasn't sold, saving my pennies for it ;)
Your flowers are wonderful! I was on a buss last week going from Boston to NYC and we had a mouse on that bus! Lots of excitement and then he disappeared!
ReplyDeleteThe purple flowers are gorgeous. What are they?
ReplyDeletemy mom swears by gumdrops in mouse traps over peanut butter. they like sugar.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that you have a mouse. icky. icky. ICKY!!! oh, I loathe those things.
ReplyDeleteI love the new banner. It looks like you ordered thread from connecting threads, am I correct?
I love ornamental onions. Ours have already finished flowering for this season... oh well they were great while they lasted.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful start of my day. Love your garden and your new blog-header!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the mouse (or mice?)
Beautiful flowers. I especially love the roses.
ReplyDeleteThe garden looks beautiful. I love the allium and astilbe especially.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is with mice these days? We are battling unusually clever mice and ants... and it is exhausting, especially when we find the giant black racer snake that should be keeping the mice under control, curled up in the chicken nest box feasting on eggs.. lazy snake.
What a beautiful garden! Can we have more pictures? I almost always catch mice on hot coco powder left over packages from winter (they do love sugar). Also, try different things. Somehow they do remember. I tried peanut butter, jelly, all kinds of sweets. One always works.
ReplyDeleteAnina...
ReplyDeleteI certainly enjoyed my walk through your garden...your flowers are lovely. I especially love the sweet pale pinks of the roses...lovely.
Your cats sure are PURRRdy!... Sorry:)I just couldn't resist!...I would think they may have some interest in the mice...but hey...maybe they prefer to eat their dinner out of a box or can! Good luck...I don't have any words of wisdom...or sure-fire ways to get rid of them...I think persistance is probably your best bet!
Blessings...
Teresa
Ahhhhhhhh. Nice walk. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flower pics! My allium are just getting ready to bloom. They have that half green half purple look to them right now.
