Finished up!

I finished the "winging it" quilt.

It was loosely based on Denyse Schmidt's Hop, Skip & Jump quilt but I really just looked at the photo and went from there.
It's about 60"x65" and made ENTIRELY from stash fabrics. The only thing I bought was the batting. Of course I actually bought everything in the quilt at some point...
As you can probably see from the multitude of photos, I'm very happy with this one.

I added a little twist to the quilting in the form of a tiny leaf every so often. You really have to study the quilt to notice them though.

The binding is a tiny checkerboard - the only fabric I had enough of.

I didn't have enough of anything for the back, so I had to piece. Another happy accident. I think it almost looks like another quilt.



Because I already have so many quilts, I'm seriously considering listing this one on Etsy. It does look really good on the chair in the entryway though...

    I love the touches of blue. And not just any blue but *these* blues. Perfect next to all the green and white.

    This is wonderful! I love that you used fabric you had. It is just perfect and reversible- the back is fabulous on its own. If you just can't find room for it, I'm sure I could help you out. I'm really generous that way ; )

    Oh, my God--I love that quilt! It's just lovely, and I love that you made it all from stuff you already had! So pretty, I don't think I'd part with it.

    So pretty! I'd say it's a blessing that the checkered fabric is the only one that you had enough of, because it's perfect for the binding.

    Wow, I would definitely buy that quilt...I am LOVING green right now, and am trying to teach myself to quilt, but somehow there seems no time in between the knitting. However, this project may inspire me...Unless of course, you just want to sell it to me...? pretty please?

    Can you really have too many Quilts!? This is so beautiful and feels like spring. I really like how the pieced backing looks. I May have to try it with a small quilt. The tiny leaves in the quilting are super cute.

    The quilt looks stunning on both sides... love the little quilted leaves... the touches of blue between the green, yummy! I understand you can’t part from the quilt!
    What kind of fabric do you use for the solid white? Kona Cotton?

    With spring still not really here, I am in so much need of GREEN! I love the way this came out. It is great, if you can part with it, you should list it on etsy it's such a lovely quilt.

    I did the same with mine..winged it...too many pattern pieces. This is beautiful. You have a great stash to work from. Love the back almost as much as the front. Artful piecing!

    Anina, it's LOVELY!!! The checkerboard was a great choice for the binding. And I really love the backing, too (I'm always too lazy to piece the back).

    It's beautiful!! I love the fabrics and that you stashbusted to make this! This looks like something anyone could do with good effect...very inspiring. I like the idea of sewing pieces together and not having to get them perfectly straight!
