I have many more Houston photos but I thought today I'd share the Best of Show.
Thread painting was very big in Houston this year.
Photos do not do this quilt justice.

Caryl totally blows me away with her talent. I know she is using "George" now but so many of her quilts were quilted using a domestic machine. I am excited when I can quilt a crib quilt on my domestic! She is just amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe artistry of this quilt is just amazing. Thanks for sharing the detail photos - just spectacular. I'm sure you loved the show - the talent is just tremendous, isn't it? Thanks again for sharing....take care. Piece...
ReplyDeleteI saw photographs of quilts from the show and this one stood out from the rest. Thanks for sharing some details of it. Definitely in a class of its own.

This would be a stunning painting so I can't believe it's actually fabric and thread. Were you tempted to touch it? Seems unreal! Besides the technique, I just love the colors and image.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous and I have such a nice memory of looking at the quilt while sharing the afternoon with you. :)
