And you thought Civil War era quilts were dull and boring. Some of the quilts I saw were so well preserved and bright that I'm starting to wonder if a bunch of those dull ones hadn't just faded over the years.
There was a "That Quilt" quilt this year!
It's new, not old. Machine pieced and wonderfully quilted.

I think I have seen that civil war pattern before but the colors didn't look like that, I wonder if there are two of them? Of course always love to see a Dear Jane.

WOW isn't that 1st quilt fabulous ... thank you.
ReplyDeleteAll of those quilts are beautiful, but "that quilt" is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea, to quilt the DJ triangles instead of piecing them. Cool! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose two-color applique quilts are gorgeous! And the Jane is just inspiring. I really need to start putting blocks together! :)
ReplyDeleteAll are amazing but love especially the quilting border on Jane - lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos Anina.
Wasn't that Jane quilt wonderful? I started following your tutorials a while ago,and I stood in front of that quilt saying, "I've made that one, and that one, and that one..." and then they dragged me away.I got really inspired to start again!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are amazing! I love the colors on that first one. I can't believe all that piecing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilts! I have read where the old quilts were made in bright colours and they have faded because the dyes weren't so good at the time! I love the red and green era!
