I think this is a wonderful idea! We have a season place we go to every year with our 28 ft camper and I sew on our deck in the breeze. I even have what I like to cal my 'Camp' sewing machine. It stays there all year round! Iron on!
Nothing wrong with ironing outdoors, as long as you actually enjoy ironing, lol, which I don't. Its a chore. Mind you, ironing quilt patches is something I wouldn't consider work, so thats alright.
Oh this makes me smile! I think I might actually take my ironing board & set it up in my garage today :) I am just really wanting to work on my quilt :)
What a good idea, to be outdoors and do your ironing of your blocks!! If the weather permits!!!!! Those little blocks are so pretty!! Come visit me at thegoodlifeatmyhouse.blogspot.com
In the early 60's (in my early teen years) my girlfriend and I were responsible for the ironing in our households. We often set up an ironing station outside and spent our afternoons ironing and tanning! This brought back many great memories! I hope it cools off for you soon.
A quilters got to do what a quilters got to do. That's a great way to beat the heat. we have a visitor here from Victoria BC and she's glad she's not home there in the heat.
great idea! it's so weird...you all are having our weather...we're having yours...55 in the morning the other day and then 2 inches of rain...i'm about to float away!

ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean - turn the fan on full blast in my upstairs, un-airconditioned apartment and... Iron?
