Thank you SO much for all your support on my previous post! I was relieved to see that many other bloggers are of the same mindset as me.
I still don't have anything interesting to blog about, so I thought I'd share with you two of the amazing Pinwheel Party quilts out there. (I'm still working on mine.)

I've also simplified the newsletter signup process for the store. You now don't have to tell me everything but the kitchen sink about yourself to sign up. Just your email address and name.

it is amazing how some people are "super bloggers" and have hundreds or thousands of readers. I really do not know how they do it and I'm tired of feeling like I need to compete :) LOL I think I forgot it is not a popularity contest - I was just blogging for fun. I doubt I will keep trying to post every day - it is becoming work LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your pinwheel pattern.

Thank you for sharing these quilts. I really appreciated your previous post ... I'm new to blogging and put it off so long because, in fact, I don't normally have much to say, but I really did want to join in the sharing with quilters, so I caved.
ReplyDeleteThank you again and, when you have the time, love to follow your writings.
Take care!

love looking at the quilts. I had wished I had signed up for the party and now I am sure I will have to do this one on my own. Which will not be as much fun.
ReplyDeleteI have your blog in my blog list and have for some time. I enjoy the things you post so keep blogging.
ReplyDeleteSo coool! Those two quilt are both beautiful. I was so excited by this quiltalong when I found it. Do to our crazy life right now I was unabout to sew along but i have saved all the direction on my computer!!!! I can't wait to be able to do this pattern Thank you for all the directions and the quilt along!!! Look forward to see your when it completed.
ReplyDeleteIs there really any blogging etiquite that says you need to post often? I just post when I feel I have something interesting to say or just to log a project that I am working on...mostly I blog for myself. I do like to visit your blog whenever you have something interesting to post about, that is when you come to the top of my list and then I check out what you are up to. No expectations, just pure interest.
ReplyDeleteI didn't leave a comment at your previous post but I wanted to let you know that I totally understand what you feel. Blogging has become such a rat race and popularity contest. I've always disliked the awards stuff etc. I've stopped blogging a while ago and came back because I missed it but the same pleasure of blogging I felt 3 years ago is still not there. The last couple of weeks I've been thinking of deleting my blogs so I won't get tempted to pick it up again, but I can't make up my mind. I keep telling myself that it is my blog and that I should blog for myself first and that it is not important how many people read it. Well, we will see what happens. I hope you will keep blogging Anina, I always enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteI love your shop, and I love your posts and I will continue to read your blog and visit and shop from your store. Blogging is supposed to be the 21st century's answer to a journal. So journal! Write about your kids, your family, your dog, your fabric, your garden. . .all of it. . .as long as it's what's in your heart! That's what brings us here. . .not an online ad.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
There's a better photo of my black & white quilt at http://appliqueaddict.blogspot.com/2010/06/davids-pinwheel-quilt.html
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog and hope you continue :o) I have also felt the same way as you, it started to become a race to blog a often as I could. But then I reminded myself that the blogging is for sharing the things that I do and making contact with other bloggers that share the same love for quilting - and thats fun! I love the comments and advice that I get even if its just a few. Im still working on my pinwheel quilt, still have some blocks left. When looking at the first picture I think maybe I should make the sashing in a different colour than the background, I really like that a lot :o)
Looking forward to your next post!
I love your blog and I read it whenever you post but you have a life outside blogger and I think if blogging gets to be a chore it might be time to take a break. I have a sister-in-law who is like that and she does take breaks for weeks at a time till she misses it. I also love your sew-alongs and I am very, very honored that you chose mine to show in this post (my yahoo id is faith_hope_love_grace). I also did the geese sew-along but I STILL haven't completed it... :o) I may never get the chance but that doesn't mean I don't love it and I truely appreciate you taking your time and talents to share with us. God bless, Sarah
ReplyDeletethe black and white is a suprise! i love it when others do such great things.
ReplyDeletei am sewing like a mad woman today so i can get mine done. weeee.
I, too, love your blog, whenever you choose to post (and however frequently or infrequently). I've learned so very much from your tutorials (some day soon I'll get my Pinwheel done!). Although I started a blog this year, I don't feel compelled to have lots of followers - or any, if it comes to that. It's a great way for me to record my quilting progress, but often there's not much of that, so I don't worry. You shouldn't either!!!! Love your store (as evidenced by my most recent order!) and your patterns. Truly, I appreciate any time you choose to share with us!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilts! I finished my top yesterday with the suggested color themes -- after seeing the creative ones above, I may want to venture out and try other colors! Thanks again for hosting this fun quilt-a-long!
