It's always fun to see what other quilters are up to.
First my favorite, favorite, favorite quilt of the day.
I found a lot of inspiration and ideas for using my scraps.
Even though this is not something I would make, it was very, very impressive and quite beautiful.
How does anyone get their satin stitches this perfect? Even around corners?

The quilts are wonderful. How inspiring. I agree that first one is beautiful. I can't even imagine the precise patience in making a lovely quilt like that one.

Gorgeous quilts! Thanks for sharing the photos. By the way, most likely, the candy corn is done by an embroidery machine. There are lots of applique designs out there for embroidery machines. ;-)
This makes me want to get my Jane's out and get busy.

That Dear Jane is awesome. Did I tell you I joined a DJ club at my LQS together with a quilt friend? She starts making the quilt and I hope to finish it!

It really was a great show this year-- I had so much fun wandering about, gazing at all of the quilts. You're so smart-- not just taking the camera (which I managed to do), but actually taking pictures too (somehow I didn't manage that)! :P
You were right!! They are all beautiful, but I am definitely partial to the beautiful paper pieced ones. Especially the Judy Niemeyer Total Eclipse in the lime and black. I am actually working on that same quilt now!! Love it in the colors shown here.

The Halloween quilt with the "perfect" satin stitch around the candy corn is done by machine embroidery. So it's the machine with the embroidery hoop moving it perfectly each time as it stitches out each design.
