I don't think ...I like the 3rd option, as well. I don't think it's too much green at all. If you think of an actual flower garden, there is a lot of green with the leaves, stems and grass around. I think the green along the border actually draws your eye into the colors of all the flowers more than the white around the border. In the 2nd option, I find myself looking more at the border than at the all the beautiful colorful flowers. To me, the first has a more modern feel and the third has a bit of a cool retro vibe. You can't go wrong.
